Presson started as a simple idea: what if a tracker didn't try to optimise you?

Every productivity app on the market wants to make you faster, more efficient, more optimised. They treat humans like machines with throughput problems.

We wanted something different. Something that just asks: did you show up today?

Why build in public?

Building in public means sharing the process โ€” the decisions, the trade-offs, the things that don't work. It's uncomfortable, but it's honest. And honesty is kind of our thing.

Presson is anti-hustle. We're not going to pretend the development process is some perfectly optimised sprint. Some days we ship features. Some days we stare at a bug for hours. Some days we take a break.

Sound familiar? That's because building an app is just like everything else Presson tracks. You show up, you do what you can, you go again tomorrow.

What's coming

We're focused on keeping things simple. The core loop is:

  1. Check in daily with your effort level (1-5)
  2. See your history and patterns
  3. Connect with friends who are also pressing on
No social feeds designed to make you feel behind. No leaderboards. No streaks that punish you for taking a day off.

Just a quiet record of showing up.

Follow along

This blog is where we'll share updates, thinking, and the occasional reflection on what it means to build something that deliberately does less.

Press on.
